HaleeHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (03/18/18) – Halee Van Vactor was named Murray State University-Madisonville Regional Campus Student of the Month.

Van Vactor, originally from Marshall County, transferred to Dawson Springs High school her freshman year and graduated in 2012.

She chose MSU-Madisonville, saying the campus is close to home and the courses needed to meet her degree requirements are available locally.

Van Vactor will graduate in May with a bachelor’s of science degree in public and community health with an emphasis on healthcare informatics administration. Her career goal is to one day be a healthcare administrator at a long-term care/assisted living facility or an information administrator in a healthcare organization.

Van Vactor also mentioned she has plans to pursue a master’s in healthcare administration.

She is currently a student ambassador and represents MSU by interacting with the public and by donating time to Madisonville Food Bank food drives, Hopkins County Animal Shelter and Browning Springs Middle School backpack program.

Previously, she was a member of the Student Health Educators Association with a goal to supply food for individuals in need.

Van Vactor said she is honored to have been chosen as MSU student of the month for March and will continue to make Murray proud as she begins her journey in the career field.
