MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/15/18) — CIty police received a visit from a curious and young group Monday at the station downtown.

The Earlington Elementary kindergarten class under the instruction of Brooke Stuart toured Madisonville Police Department and had a fun time interacting with officers.

Officer Jeff Miller spoke about what happens when you an individual commits a crime. He also explained the day-to-day duties of being a police officer.

One inquisitive child asked the officer, “Where is your hat?” Another asked if he had ever shot a gun.

Miller told the students the role is more than just a job — it is also about helping people in need or after someone calls 911 during emergencies.

After a tour through the facility, the kindergarteners made their way to the donut shop, and then to the City Park before heading back to class.
