Cyber Security For Small BusinessMADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/22/18) — The Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corp. announced Dr. Michael Ramage, Director of the Center for Telecommunications Systems Management-Murray State University, will present the class, Cyber Security for Small Business at noon June 7 at Kentucky Innovation Station in Madisonville.

Educating workers to recognize common cyber threats can be beneficial to computer security, organizers said. This public course is designed to assist small businesses in what they need to do to identify, detect, protect, respond, and recover from cybersecurity incidents.

“Cybersecurity issues are one of the greatest threats to small businesses and their owners, said Ramage, MSU Director of TSM. "The event will provide a brief overview of the current and emerging threats in cybersecurity along with tips, tools, and actions to improve your business security. The discussion will include an examination of password security and how important they are to your business’s security posture.”

The Kentucky Innovation Station Learning Series focuses on the needs of small business and will address topics relevant to those needs. The community can come together to gain knowledge, insights and inspiration through offered courses. All sessions will be held at Kentucky Innovation Station.
