United WayHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/10/18) — United Way of the Coalfield is accepting grant applications to fund youth and human service agencies in Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Webster counties.

United Way of the Coalfield Director Libby Spencer announced the grant application deadline is Aug. 13.

Spencer reported a committee of community volunteers will be reviewing each application to recommend funding. Grants are made available through the Heidi Badgett Fund.

The goal is to “maximize community resources through collaboration among agencies that serve basic health and educational needs of children,” from birth to 17 years old and their families, Spencer said in a statement.

The United Way’s funding priorities are identified as projects that serve stated needs including seed money for innovative projects with matching funds, ongoing programs with matching funds and capital campaigns with match, if a maintenance plan is outlined for the project.
