Traffic 7 15

UPDATE: Roads were reopened to traffic before dark on Sunday.

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/15/18) — The northbound lanes along Pennyrile Parkway, from the I-69 Hopkins County Earlington Exit to the Christian County line, are at a standstill.

Northbound traffic appeared to be backed for miles at 4:45 p.m. today. Southbound lanes of traffic are open.

Several slideoffs have been reported along the highway due to an apparent diesel oil spill.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies and area fire departments have responded.

State highway officials reported crews have been called in to clean up the spill. Officials estimate it will take up to two more hours or so before the north lanes are reopened.
