FNLMADISONVLLE, Ky. (7/19/18) — The third installment of Friday Night Live will be held this weekend in the downtown area.

Up and coming Americana/Folk artist Colter Wall will headline the event with special guest Andy Brasher. The event will begin 6 p.m. Friday with the concert beginning at 7 at First United Bank Plaza off East Center Street.

Annabell Whitledge will be the first act on the Friday Night Live’s West End stage, sponsored by The Crowded House, beginning 7 p.m. on West Center Street near the railroad tracks followed by soulful funk band Xtraordinary Gentlemen. Also new to Friday Night Live this year will be class pre-unions welcoming Madisonville North Hopkins High School Class of 1993 Friday night. The area will be on the West End for classmates to reunite for the weekend.

Also happening at this installment of the event is the Dixie Flyers Drive-In Motorcycle Show, which will also take place on the West End. The show will consist of 10 classes of bikes. Winners will be announced 9 p.m. from the West End Stage. Those interested should register at the event by 7 p.m., city officials said.

“We are getting excited for this weekend’s event,” Mayor David Jackson said. “Between the four musical acts, we have four different genres of music, so we hope there’s something for everyone. We’ve had great crowds and a great response at the past two Friday Night Lives, and expect the same for this weekend.”

As always, the potential for bad weather does exist, city officials said. The city of Madisonville is prepared to make the event happen rain or shine, but if heavy rain or thunderstorms occur, the event will be canceled.

“We have purchased rain insurance for every event to make sure the taxpayer dollars do not go to waste,” Community Development Director Summer Crick said. “Unfortunately, due to the artists’ schedules and contract requirements, we won’t be able to reschedule the exact event, but we will be able to use those dollars at future events.”

Crick asks that guests watch the City of Madisonville Facebook page, sign up for GoMadisonville text alerts or tune in to local media for the latest updates.

The event will also feature the Kidz Zone with face painting, live characters, inflatables and more as well as vendors and a beer garden. The event is sponsored by the city of Madisonville, Madisonville Forward, Land O Frost, Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission and The Crowded House.

Vendor applications and more information about the event can be found at www.madisonvilleky.us.
