breakingnews surfky 300aUPDATEUPDATE: MADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/21/18) — Authorities have released the identity of the man struck by a train approximately 6 this evening in the Grapevine area.

Madisonville Police Department said 35-year-old Michael O’Rear of Wesco Drive was walking west on the east/west railroad tracks between Hickory Hollow and Clearview drives.

A westbound train approached from the rear and struck O’Rear, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.

Madisonville Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/21/18) — Madisonville Police confirmed that a person has been struck by a train in the Grapevine area this evening.

Lt. Andy Rush with MPD said detectives are on the scene investigating the situation that occurred on the tracks that run behind the houses along Hickory Hollow Drive.

More information is expected to be released with detectives have left the scene.
