fatal collision 1 300DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (10/6/18) — A single-vehilce accident claimed the life of a Pennsylvania man this week along I-69 near Dawson Springs.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 reported responding to the incident near the 99-mile marker at approximately 2:25 p.m. Thursday.

Preliminary investigation revealed William Glenn Kelley, 63, of Aston, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Interstate 69 when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the right shoulder of the road, KSP reported.

Kelley’s vehicle continued down an embankment, striking a barbwire fence and tree before coming to rest upright in a field, according to the report. Kelley was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Stuart Recke.

Charleston Volunteer Fire Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service, and KSP CVE Officer John Sweeney assisted at the scene.
