Cope KMADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/30/18) — City police responded to a matter related to a domestic disturbance Thursday evening that resulted in several charges for a Madisonville woman.

According to a Madisonville Police Department arrest report, officers went to the 100 block of Alvin Drive, where Central Dispatch indicated a woman was chasing her husband “around the yard with a stick” at 5:25 p.m.

As officers arrived, Kristen Cope, 34, got in a vehicle parked in the yard, according to the report. She failed to yield for police blue lights and tried to leave, turning a circle in the backyards of two Grapevine Road residences.

Police stated Cope missed striking five residents standing in their yards by no more than 15 feet, and caused an estimated $1,000-$2,000 in damage to property. Another report listed she was found at the end of Montrose Court, where she resisted arrest and caused alarm to residents.

The report also indicated Cope bit one of the officers.

Cope was charged with first-degree fleeing police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree trespassing, resisting arrest, third-degree assault on a police officer and second-degree disorderly conduct.

She was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail this evening on $10,000 cash bond.
