Qualls AMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/5/19) — A man accused of eluding police through three counties today faces numerous charges.

Madisonville Police Department reported no one was injured during the pursuit.

MPD Officer Ryan Clark stated in a press release that he tried to stop the driver of a green Jeep for expired plates along North Harrig and Center Street in Madisonville at 11:30 a.m. The driver sped off through Hopkins, McLean and merged onto Western Kentucky Parkway toward Muhlenberg County.

Central City Police Department set out some stop sticks twice, causing one of the Jeep tires to slowly run flat, police said. The driver, identified as Anthony Qualls, 43 of Madisonville, kept driving until the tire came off the rim.

Qualls came to a stop, tried to strike officers and resisted arrest, Clark wrote.

According to scanner traffic, police deployed a taser around that time frame.

MPD listed Qualls had several outstanding warrants including a charge of failure to appear-probation revocation hearing.

He was charged with expired registration, first-degree fleeing police, driving on a DUI-suspended license, no insurance, resisting arrest, reckless driving and other traffic offenses.

Hopkins, McLean and Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s deputies, CCPD and Kentucky State Police assisted.
