Madisonville Seal 02 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/10/19) — The city of Madisonville is preparing for the 2nd Annual Spring Fling Open House, city officials reported today.

“This event allows the city of Madisonville to team up with local businesses to help drive their revenue during what can sometimes be looked at as a slow season,”  Mayor Kevin Cotton said in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring this back for a second year to help bring more awareness to the amazing businesses we have located right here in Hopkins County.”

Participating stores will be open during their regular business hours March 15-16 to offer exciting deals right before spring break and the Easter season, city spokeswoman Skylar Phaup said. The city asks residents to join in for "fashion and gifts galore" during the local business event.

“Shopping local isn’t just investing in our local community,” Cotton said. “It means helping out your neighbor, your coworker who owns their own business or the mom-and-pop shop that you’ve grown up knowing to be an integral part of Madisonville. This allows us to put our money where our mouth is and show our local businesses that we value them and wish them many more successful years operating right here in The Best Town on Earth.”

Businesses interested in participating are asked to contact Phaup at (270) 824-2100, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or fill out the Google form online to register at https://goo.gl/forms/DLrGcsA8AlJ1wdgI2.

Participation is free for businesses in Hopkins County, and not limited to Chamber members, city officials said.
