Golike copyMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/13/19) — City police are seeking a driver reported to have evaded police earlier this evening during a pursuit.

Madisonville Police Department reported an attempt to locate Jacob Ruckert, who was known to have several felony warrants and previously sold drugs to narcotics detectives, was apprehended after the vehicle went off the road.

Officers reported seeing Ruckert, a passenger in a vehicle at Baptist Health Madisonville, at 4:50 this evening. A traffic stop was attempted near the emergency room entrance, but, the driver had other plans and fled though the same-day surgery lot, and then went through a row of shrubs off Hospital Drive.

The vehicle turned onto North Kentucky Street at a high rate of speed, MPD reported, and turned onto a CSX access road, where it struck a street sign and concrete wall before landing on an embankment.

Ruckert got out of the vehicle and fled into the woods, MPD reported. Officers caught him, however. The driver, identified as Damien A. Golike, ran in the opposite direction and is still at large.

Golike is described as a 24-year-old white male with a beard. He was last seen running toward Elk Creek Mobile Home Park.

Ruckert was served with felony warrants and additionally charged with fleeing police, convicted felon in possession of a firearm (.22 caliber rifle) and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
