investigation 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/23/19) — Hopkins County authorities are looking for a white man said to have robbed a Madisonville gas station this evening.

The suspect was described as slim, standing about 6-feet tall, wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a hood or hat on his head. His face was covered.

Madisonville Police Department reported receiving a robbery complaint at the 1150 S. Main St. Ideal filling station location at 6:54 p.m.

At around 8 p.m., the station appeared to be closed.

Police say the suspect brandished a knife and demanded money from a worker at the business. The victim complied with the alleged robber’s commands, and was unharmed. The man fled the scene.

The MPD report did not list whether the alleged robber fled on foot or in a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, MPD reported. Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Police are still looking for the suspect.
