Foster MarkielUPDATE: MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/6/19) — An arrest has been made in connection to the murder on Sugg Street.

Ashley D. Egan, 26, died after she was gunned down inside her mobile home late Monday night. Her fiancé, 24-year-old Alexander Yarbrough, also was wounded from gunfire.

As a result of the investigation, Madisonville Police Department has charged Mar’Keil Foster, 20 of Madisonville, with murder and first-degree robbery.

Foster was located with the aid of Clarksville Police Department, MPD reported. He was taken to Montgomery County Jail, where he waived extradition.

He was transported to MPD, where the arrest warrant was served, police said this evening.

City police previously reported several individuals were inside the couple’s mobile home at 514 Sugg St., when a volley of gunfire followed an argument around 10:30 p.m. The individuals then fled from the residence.

MPD Major Andy Rush said detectives obtained good investigative leads from cell phone forensics and interviews.

“Once we determined where the individual was, we got a lot of help from Clarksville Police Department,” Rush said.

Rush explained there was communication between one of the victims and individuals that brought them to the residence in Madisonville.

“There was a demand for money,” Rush said, adding police are unsure whether drugs were involved. What led to the shooting is still under investigation.”

Rush also noted MPD detectives spent countless hours going over evidence, witness interviews and neighborhood canvassing that led them to the suspect.

It is believed Yarbrough is still recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg in an area hospital.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. at 514 Sugg St. Ashley D. Egan has been identified as the murder victim, while her fiancé, 24-year-old Dominick Alexander Yarbrough, also was wounded during the incident.

MPD Major Andy Rush said the two were inside the mobile home with others, when an argument broke out.

“A volley of gunfire started,” Rush said, “and, that’s when Ms. Egan was shot inside. The other individuals left, and that’s when Yarbrough went outside. He was struck with a bullet.”

MPD responded after Yarbrough called in to report his fiancé had been shot, according to a press release. Yarbrough was outside the residence, and directed officers inside, where Egan was found unresponsive on the living room floor.

Rush said detectives recovered several shell casings from inside and outside of the residence overnight.

“We have people of interest and we’re trying to locate everyone who was there at the time,” Rush said. “I have full confidence in our detectives.”
