PhoneScam 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/19/19) — Madisonville city officials say there have been recent reports of phone scammers calling residents about paying utility bills. The city urges residents to disregard those calls, hang up and do not give the callers payment.

Madisonville City Clerk Kim Blue asks residents to be aware of scammers posing as a Madisonville Municipal Utilities worker.

“This person is stating that your utilities will be disconnected unless you pay within 30 minutes,” Blue stated. “The city of Madisonville would never call you with this kind of message."

Anyone with questions regarding city utility bills can call MMU at (270) 824-2102.
