Stone BMADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/22/19) — A Dixon man wanted on outstanding Webster County warrants evidently was not willing to go to jail without taking a stance.

Despite his alleged efforts, the man was provided a ride to jail, but not before being tasered, batoned and pepper-sprayed, an arrest report indicates.

A Madisonville homeowner called Central Dispatch for law enforcement 7:30 p.m., saying the individual that tried to gain entry was not wanted there, according to a Madisonville Police Department report.

MPD noted the man was standing on the porch, when officers asked 24-year-old Bryant M. Stone to turn around, place his hands behind his back and was under arrest due to having a warrant. When the handcuffs were being applied, Stone began resisting, saying “he wasn’t going to do this.”

He fled into a neighboring yard and ran across the road, despite police commands to stop, according to the report. He turned around, squared up in an aggressive manner toward the officer, resulting in Stone being tasered that sent him to the ground. Stone got up and ran again as backup arrived at the scene.

The backup unit attempted to gain compliance with Stone, who continued to resist arrest, MPD reported. The officer used a baton, and after a few minutes, Stone was in custody. While being placed in the cruiser, Stone refused to take a seat, and then was pepper-sprayed.

He was charged with second-degree fleeing police, resisting arrest, menacing and served Webster County warrants on charges of failure to appear and contempt of court. Stone was being held in Hopkins County Jail today on $773 cash bond.
