easter2MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/25/19) — Western Kentucky’s largest "Eggstravaganza" Easter egg hunt is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Madisonville City Park.

The free, community wide event has been a tradition for 19 consecutive years. Organizer Convenant Community Church in Madisonville announced more than 30,000 plastic eggs will be hidden all around City Park for children ages 0-12.

Fields will be marked for different age groups to ensure children participate safely, Covenant spokeswoman Leesa Boone said.

In addition to the egg hunt, there will be bounce houses, games, giveaways and other family-friendly activities. The Easter Bunny will be onsite for photo opportunities.

Registration begins 10 a.m., and Madisonville Fire Department crews will be present to sound the alarm 11 a.m. for the egg hunt. Afterward, prize drawings will be conducted from the stage.

Boone said they are expecting more than 5,000 to attend.
