Police LightMADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/20/19) — A wrong-way driver was arrested over the weekend for alleged drunk driving.

James Lamont Sebree of Evansville was stopped 1:35 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Center and Daves streets, according to a Madisonville Police Department arrest report. Sebree made a right turn in his Chevy Tahoe heading the “wrong way on East Center Street.”

The driver made a wide turn and “nearly struck a white sedan traveling east on East Center,” the report listed. A traffic stop was made at the public library, where the officer noted smelling a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from Sebree. He told the officer he was heading to Evansville, but he failed a field sobriety test and was taken to jail after a breathalyzer revealed .167.

Police also reported finding a half-empty bottle of Jack Daniels in the center console and a half-smoked joint believed to be marijuana in the passenger seat. Sebree admitted to “drinking while driving.”

Sebree was charged with DUI-aggravated, possession of open alcohol beverage container in vehicle, possession of marijuana and no driver’s license.

MPD also released the following reports today:

Stephen P. Britto of New Bedford, Massachusetts was charged May 16 with third-degree criminal trespassing.

Brian W. West of Madisonville was charged May 18 with failure to appear in court.

Adam C. Strader of Madisonville was charged May 17 with contempt of court.

Christopher Lloyd of Madisonville was charged May 19 with failure to pay court costs or fines, contempt of court and failure to appear.

Lauren Kaleen Furgerson of Madisonville was charged May 19 with public intoxication (excludes alcohol).

Adam Clark Strader of Madisonville was charged May 17 with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth/second offense), possession of synthetic drugs and paraphernalia.

Stephen Case of Central City was charged May 17 with public intoxication (excludes alcohol).

Dung C. Ly of Madisonville was charged May 18 with DUI and resisting arrest.

William S. Crawford of Bowling Green was charged May 19 with third-degree criminal trespassing.
