Bust 5 24MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/24/19) — A drug probe that began in March resulted in an arrest in Madisonville Thursday night.

Madisonville/Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit reported its detectives along with Kentucky State Police DESI West and the DEA had been jointly investigating “a large-scale drug trafficking operation, with 31-year-old Jarrod Ramsey being their primary “focus.”

The vice unit used informants to purchase more than a half-pound of crystal methamphetamine from Ramsey, MPD Detective Bo Crump reported today.

Detectives reported serving a search warrant 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 242 Daniel Drive, where about an ounce of crack cocaine, digital scales, cash and two handguns were discovered. Ramsey’s 2007 Cadillac Escalade was also seized by vice.

Ramsey was charged with five counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth-more than 2 grams), first-degree trafficking in cocaine-more than 4 grams/enhanced, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, receiving stolen property (firearm) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail today on $$20,000 cash bond.
