hydroplaneHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (6/9/19) — A Sunday afternoon crash that occurred at I-69 mile-marker 114 resulted in injuries.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies responded 1 p.m. Saturday to the single-vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver’s Dodge Ram pickup hydroplaned in the northbound lanes.

Robert Hambrick of Drakesboro lost control and struck a concrete bridge retaining wall, according to the report. The truck came to rest in the median.

Hambrick and a passenger, Misty Hambrick, also of Drakesboro, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, HCSO Sgt. Ryan Bailey reported. Medical Center Ambulance Service treated Misty at the scene and took her to Baptist Health Madisonville ER.

Northbound lanes were closed while first responders worked at the scene.

Madisonville Police and Fire departments assisted.
