A tree fell on the home, prompting the homeowner to turn off the main breaker box at 6:47 p.m. The woman received an electrical shock in the process, but she was not injured, MFD reported.

Fire crews checked the inside of the house, finding no signs of smoke or fire. MFD noted seeing several holes in the roof that caused rainwater to seep inside. The people inside were told to gather a few belongings and find another place to stay until repairs could be made to the home.

Habitat for Humanity also responded to the scene to assist the family, MFD reported.

The city reported Sunday evening that 800 residents lost power during the thunderstorm. City electrical workers were able to repair most of the downed power lines over the evening hours. Some area residents also reported roof damage due to the storm.
