rollover accident 300HANSON, Ky. (7/10/19) — A 20-year-old woman's guardian angel must have been in overdrive this afternoon as she apparently was uninjured after her vehicle struck a semi on I69 near Hanson. The vehicle was then struck by the overturned trailer of the semi and rolled over several times before landing on its top.

Hopkins County Sheriff's Office said Delilah Rixer of Indiana was driving a 2017 red Toyota Corolla at 2:57 p.m. northbound. Rixer's vehicle hydroplaned and struck a red 2018 Volvo semi tractor trailer driven by Darren Waites, 46 of Indiana at the 117 mile marker.

HCSO said when Rixner's vehicle struck the semi, it went in front of it. The semi's tandem trailer's rear unit turned onto its side on the shoulder and Rixner's vehicle was struck by the trailer. The Corolla overturned several times before coming to rest upside down.

Rixner was treated at the scene and had no visible injuries but was transported to Baptist Health Hospital for precautions.

HCSO Deputy Chris Roush was in charge of the investigation and reported the roadway was impeded for about two hours.
