crash 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/11/19) — A 75-year-old passenger was reported injured during a collision that occurred 12:13 p.m. today at the intersection of North Main and North streets.

According to a Madisonville Police Department preliminary traffic report, two vehicles were stopped in traffic.

Vehicles were backed up for several miles along Main Street/U.S. 41 this afternoon.

The driver of a 1998 Toyota Corolla identified as 53-year-old Anita Owens of Madisonville, collided into the back of a 2009 Chevy Colorado driven by Kenneth Hayes, 79 of Madisonville.

Owens believed traffic had started to move although Hayes was still stopped ahead, MPD reported. The vehicles had minor damage. A passenger with Hayes, Dianne Hayes, complained of neck pain and was taken via Medical Center Ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville.

Madisonville Fire Department and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
