MorrisUPDATE: MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/19/19) — Caldwell County and Dawson Springs authorities caught up with an elusive driver Thursday following an attempted traffic stop in Madisonville.

According to Madisonville Police Department arrest reports released today, 26-year-old Zachery N. Morris of Madisonville was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion 1:53 p.m. on West Arch Street, failed to stop at the North Seminary intersection and turned south onto Seminary toward West Center, swerving behind the wheel.

Morris refused to stop for the officer, and instead, sped up and wove through city streets nearly causing crashes and almost struck a pedestrian near Cash Express.

“He fled out of town, driving erratically, endangering other motorists and his passengers, whom we found out later were an an adult and his almost 2-year-old child,” MPD wrote.

Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to stop the vehicle as Morris entered (Princeton) a while later, according to police.

Morris was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing police, disregarding a stop sign and traffic lights, reckless driving and driving on a suspended or revoked license. He was also served outstanding Christian County warrants.

Morris was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail today on $35,000 cash bond.

Police Trail Driver in Madisonville; Pursuit Develops Southward

UPDATE: DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (7/18/19) — Dawson Springs Police Department officers apparently have detained two people following a pursuit. An infant was in the vehicle.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/18/19) — Madisonville Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle in the North Main Street area in Madisonville around 2 p.m. for an apparent traffic violation.

The driver kept going and led police to West Noel Noel Avenue. From there, police were seen behind the vehicle during a low-speed pursuit to the south end of the county, where Dawson Springs Police Department units took over.

It is believed the driver got onto I-69 traveling south into Caldwell County, and traveling at a high rate of speed.
