Flooding 7 22

MADISONVILLE, Ky. 97/22/19) — Heavy downpours overnight and today have resulted in water over the roads in several areas of northern Madisonville.

There are reports of vehicles hydroplaning on North Main Street and one was stalled in high water off North Haven. Water is covering several sections of Shamrock Drive, where trash containers and other debris are floating in floodwater.

Several inches of rain has already fallen over the past few hours. Tuesday is expected to be drier and cooler on the tail of a heatwave that moved through the region over the weekend.

City worker Belinda Adcock reported Lake Pee Wee weather station showed Madisonville received 2.5 inches of rain as of 2:38 p.m. today.

One vehicle has crashed off I-69 near mile-marker 118 around 2:30 this afternoon. Hanson Volunteer Fire Department crews have been called out to the scene.
