Police LightMADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/14/19) — Under certain circumstances, an arrest could be avoided. One man evidently put that theory to the test Tuesday afternoon.

A man off the street who approached city police during a traffic stop off Center Street wound up in the back of the police cruiser and given a ride to the county jail.

A Madisonville Police Department arrest report lists city officers were approached by Ricky T. White of Madisonville 1:09 p.m. during the traffic stop. White was asked to leave that area and not interfere with their investigation.

Instead, White started screaming profanities from the sidewalk off the 550 block of East Center, according to the report. After being asked to stop yelling again, White continued to shout profanities, which resulted in his arrest. He told uniformed officers that “he was not going to be taken to jail and began to blade his body in an aggressive manner.”

White was cuffed and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing.

MPD also released the following reports today:

Brittany N. Pettus of Madisonville was charged Aug. 13 with failure to pay court costs or fines.

Marria S. McBride of Madisonville was charged Aug. 13 with possession of synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear in court and persistent felony offender.

Johnnie L. Dukes of Madisonville was charged Aug. 13 with failure to appear.
