Landons HopeWHITE PLAINS, Ky. (10/5/19) — Landon’s Hope Food Bank and Thrift Store opened this week in White Plains.

The faith-based nonprofit drew several people after opening the doors Tuesday for people in need of food and clothing.

Owner Tammy Moore said the operation was her son’s dream to provide for those in need and offering prayer for spiritual needs. Moore’s son died following a 2016 accident, and after reading his journals, the mother discovered his goal was to help others that were struggling with life issues.

Monetary donations are accepted at area Planters Bank locations.

Landon’s Hope accepts food donations, clothing, household items and furniture at its newest location off Bob Bruce Drive in the old city hall building. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. For more information about the organization, call (270) 213-0887.
