city hallMADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/5/19) — Madisonville City Council plans to host one of several upcoming town hall meetings.

Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton announced the first called city council/town hall meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 18 at Hopkins County Career and Technology Center. The announcement was made during Monday’s city council meeting held at City Hall downtown.

A meet and greet with Cotton and council members begins 5 p.m. Nov. 18 followed by the town hall meeting at 5:30. The mayor and council plan to hold special meetings in each of the six city wards to address specific questions or concerns from residents. The regular council meeting is set for 4:30 p.m.

In other business, the council approved a funding request for the Grapevine Lake bridge project, declared miscellaneous items as surplus and adopted a legal description and territorial map of city boundaries.

The council also approved a water department request to seek bids on removal and installation of faulty water meters and police department bid request for four new patrol units. Jack Morris was appointed to the city zoning adjustment board through Dec. 31, 2021. He will fill the unexpired term of Gerald Klynn, who resigned Nov. 1.
