giving tuesdayMADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/28/19) — A local nonprofit is seeking donations on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Light of Chance Director Eric Logan said the organization, which offers arts programs for area youth in Madisonville, is continuing last year’s Giving Tuesday theme, “Don-AGE-tion,” which asks donors to give the number of dollars matching their ages.

The funds help to impact children in Madisonville and Bowling Green, Logan said, and Facebook will match each donation though the Light of Chance Facebook page 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday.

Contributions are also accepted online at lightofchance.org or by mail to P.O. Box 1636, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42102.

The impact of Don-AGE-tion could sponsor a child one year for $416 to participate in the Breathe program, while $100 provides dinner for one night for youth participants, $50 covers a week’s transportation for four students and $25 provides supplies for a visual art lesson.

Facebook describes GivingTuesday as "a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world."
