MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/12/20) — City police responded to Parkway Plaza Mall for a water rescue around 4:30 p.m. People inside a vehicle were stranded in deep water near Spectrum along Madison Square Drive and called 911 for help.

Madisonville Police Department units were on the scene to assist the driver and passengers to get out of the vehicle. A tow truck driver was working to retrieve it from the road.

Water has filled the trench that runs alongside I-69 in front of the mall area, and spilling onto some of the commercial parking lots. Peebles/Gordman's side parking lot was also flooding.

Cars were navigating around that section of Madison Square. Officers are working to keep people from driving into the troubled area, and have called for high water signs to divert traffic.
