Madisonville MinersMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/12/19) — Madisonville fell behind early and couldn't recover from its slow start as visiting Franklin held on to win 11-8 in an Ohio Valley League game at Elmer Kelley Stadium on Thursday.

Brant Alazaus led Franklin to the victory on the pitcher's mound. Alazaus pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out eight as he claimed pitching win. Two other pitchers, Rylan Thomas and Matthew Crittenden, entered the game from the bullpen and helped to close out the matchup in relief roles for the Duelers.

Madisonville pitcher Eddie Rives suffered the pitching loss. Rives pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out six.

Franklin outhit Madisonville 15-12. Tyler Estes, Jack Banks, Ethan Shelton, John Benevolent and Jordan Blick each collected multiple hits for the Duelers. Estes and Banks led the Duelers with two hits apiece. Banks drove in four runs for Franklin in the victory.

Shayne Lyons, Jacob Council and Cam Diaz each collected multiple for the Miners. Council and Lyons paced Madisonville with three hits apiece. Diaz, who finished with two hits, drove in two runs for the Miners.
