James Everett Halevet ffffffMADISONVILLE, KY., — James Everett Hale, 81, of Madisonville passed away on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville. He was born in Charleston, KY to the late James Bernice Hale and Clara McGregor Hale.

He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, Senior Citizens Center, sang with the Gospel Sounds Group, he volunteered for the Salvation Army, taught Sunday school and was a song leader. He was the president of the Residence Council at Brightons Cornerstone Nursing Home, and he served in the United States Navy.

He had worked at Browning Springs Middle School as a Custodian.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Dean Gipson Hale, 2 brothers William Shelby Hale, and Darrell Martin Hale.

He is survived by 2 daughters Cheryl Massey of Earlington, Roxanne Mason with her husband Steve Mason of Smyrna, Tennessee, 1 son James Daniel Hale of Madisonville, 1 brother Melvin Dale Hale of Madisonville, several nieces and nephews as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on March 8, 2018 at 2pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Rev. Len Young officiating and burial to follow at Concord General Baptist Church Cemetery in Manitou, KY.

The Hopkins County Honor Guard will perform graveside Military Rites.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm and on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 10am until 2pm.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Massey, Matthew Massey, Clinton Gipson, Cody Gipson, Steve Mason, and Steve Webster.

Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
