Kenneth Stewart Kembelvet ffffffMADISONVILLE, KY., — Kenneth Stewart Kembel, 87, of Madisonville passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 21, 1930 in Carbondale, KY to the late Mattie and Hobart Kembel.

Kenneth was a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading and watching UK Basketball. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Shirley Kembel, daughters Kathi Blue and husband Jeff of Madisonville and Kara Clayton and husband John of Kingston, TN, grandsons Colin Blue and wife Brittany of Madisonville, Ben Clayton and wife Christina of Heiskell, TN and Eli Clayton of Kingston, TN, granddaughter Kendall Swanson and husband Andrew of Bowling Green, KY, great-granddaughter Edie Swanson of Bowling Green, KY, and great-grandson Jack Blue of Madisonville.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 12noon until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Blue, John Clayton, Colin Blue, Andrew Swanson, Ben Clayton and Eli Clayton. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Lacy, C.B. Utley, Randy Mouser and Alan Newton.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's memory to the First Baptist Church Food Closet 246 N. Main St. Madisonville, KY 42431.
