Flag dog tagsvet ffffffMADISONVILLE, KY., — Charles Edward Keown, 84, of Madisonville passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Baptist Health Madisonville. He was born in Earlington on Thursday, April 19, 1934 to the late Edward Bynum and Louise Francis Keown.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Earlington and a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked at Island Creek Coal Company as an Industrial Engineer.

He loved his family, he enjoyed bird watching, nature, and animals. He loved storytelling, music, playing his guitar, and he was an avid UK fan. He was happiest when riding his horses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son Timothy Franklin Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Nelda Keown of Madisonville, 2 daughters Karen (Mark) Hober of Madisonville, and Kimberly (David) Dugger of Earlington, 1 sister Jennie Keown (Paul) Stodghill of Madisonville, 1 brother William A. (Jenny) Keown of Phoenix, AZ., 6 grandchildren Kyle Johnson, Shannon Johnson, Rachael Gullette, Lauren Morefield, Maddie Johnson, and Allie Johnson, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be Friday, August 10, 2018 at 6pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with family officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4pm until service time at the funeral home.
