Kenneth James MilumMADISONVILLE, KY., — Kenneth James Milum, 76, of Madisonville passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his son's home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from a prolonged illness. He was born the youngest of the sons on March 29, 1942 in Madisonville to the late Lessie and Clyde Milum. Kenneth being born and raised in Madisonville and lived all of his adult life in Madisonville except for the 3 years he served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Europe. He was awarded the Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After completing his military service, he returned to Madisonville and began working for South Central Bell/AT&T. He later retired from the company after 30 years of service. Kenneth also worked at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for several years. Kenneth enjoyed traveling, golfing and as well as building and repairing things. He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Clarence Milum, David Milum, Sr. and Paul Milum, Sr.

Survivors include his sons Eddie (Karen) Milum of Madisonville and Dr. Joe (Sandy) Milum of Louisville, KY., sister Brenda Todd of Nebo, grandchildren Nikki Milum of Louisville, Cody Milum of Murfreesboro, TN., Drew Milum, Becca Milum, and Sarah Beth Milum all of Madisonville, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Jay Smith officiating and Bro. Bill Reed assisting. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with military honors conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

The visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm Friday and from 11am until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.

Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers are Cody Milum, Drew Milum, Paul Milum, Calvin Milum, Lt. Colonel Don Ray and Dr. Jamie Lamb. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Vincent, Brian Milum, Rusty Ramage, Don Hunter and Jimmie Lamb.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's memory to Baptist Health Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
