purple heart brozen starvet ffffffDAWSON SPRINGS, KY., — Ray Solomon Bochert, Jr., 91, of Dawson Springs passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his residence. 

He was a two-time veteran serving honorably in the U.S. Navy (1945-1946) and after graduating from the ROTC Program at Maryland University under the GI Bill in College Park, Maryland. He was activated into the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. Mr. Bochert served in Korea from 1952 through 1955. He received the ‘Purple Heart Medal’ from wounds received on October 12, 1952 and was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal. 

Visitation for Mr. Ray Solomon Bochert, Jr. will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 12noon until 1pm at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY.

At 1pm a Masonic Service will be conducted at the funeral home and at 2pm a funeral service will be held with Sister Kathy Redden officiating at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery with the U.S. Army and the Hopkins County Veterans Group providing a military honor service.
