henderson sheriffHENDERSON, Ky. (6/7/19) — Authorities have identified the body of a woman found in a wooded area off Waterworks Road Sunday.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed today that the remains are those of Kimra Mariah Miller, who would have been 24 years old today.

Miller was originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, and had been residing in Evansville for about three months, HCSO reported.

“As the investigation continued, it became apparent that the crime occurred in Evansville, Indiana," HCSO Detective John Nevels wrote.

Evansville Police Department has taken over the homicide investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (6/3/19) — Henderson authorities are seeking information to identify the remains of a woman found in a wooded area off Waterworks Road Sunday morning.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies said a farmer found the body and notified authorities.

Following an autopsy this morning in Madisonville, HCSO reported the woman was described as a black female, 5-feet-7 and weighed 250-300 pounds. She was wearing a red wig.

She had numerous tattoos including one with the name, “Kiasha,” and a butterfly above the name on her upper left chest, authorities said.

Anyone with information to help identify the victim, which has been ruled a homicide, is asked to call HCSO at (270) 826-2713.

Detective John Nevels is leading the murder investigation.

UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (6/2/19) — Henderson County Sheriff's Office reported human remains found 11:30 a.m. today in a wooded area off Waterworks Road is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities indicated an autopsy is scheduled for the female human remains 9 a.m. Monday at the Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville.

There were no details released concerning the identity of the woman, the circumstances surrounding the death or who discovered the remains. The unidentified woman was found in a ditch near remote farmland. 

Henderson County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.

HENDERSON, Ky. (6/2/19) — A body has been discovered near Ellis Park racetrack today.

Henderson County Coroner’s Office said the body of an unidentified person was found near a wood line, just north of the track.

Officials are still at the scene collecting evidence. No additional information is currently known about the situation or whether foul play is involved concerning the death.
