trio arrested in toddWESTERN KENTUCKY (10/31/17) — Authorities reported seizing 11 pounds of crystal meth with a street value of $400,000 this week after serving several search warrants.

Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force Director David Thompson indicated a large-scale drug trafficking ring has been distributing about 20 pounds of meth each month in Todd and Christian counties.

Three Todd County residents were arrested Monday following a two-month investigation.

PNTF, in conjunction with Christian County Sheriff’s Office, reported detectives set up several drug buys in two counties that led authorities to the main area supplier.

Thompson said more arrests are likely as the investigation continues.

Luciano Medina, 31 of Elkton, Cortes Veronica Flores, 31 of Elkton and Alberto Jesus Garcia, 22 of Trenton, were each charged with trafficking in meth.

Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Elkton Police Department, Muhlenberg and Henderson County Sheriff’s offices and Kentucky State Police assisted.
