fatal collision 1 300UPDATE: WHEATCROFT, Ky. (6/22/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 has identified the four victims who suffered fatal injuries during a two-vehicle crash this morning along the 5000 block of Kentucky 109-N in Webster County.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Eduardo Lopez, 23 of Madisonville, hydroplaned into the southbound lane of travel 9:19 a.m. today and collided with a 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Charles Barron, 54 of Marion.

Barron and his wife, Linda Barron, were taken to Baptist Health Madisonville ER for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, KSP reported.

Lopez and his three passengers identified as Jorge Chavez, Miguel Brico and Christina Chavez, all of Madisonville, were pronounced deceased at the scene by Webster County Coroner’s Office, KSP reported.

The ages of the three passengers are listed as unknown. Trooper Trevor High is still investigating.

Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Clay Fire Department, Union County EMS and Webster County EMS assisted.

WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (6/22/19) — The city of Sturgis announced on its Facebook page this afternoon that a crash claimed the lives of four workers at Fiesta Acapulco Mexican restaurant this morning.

The city said the restaurant, which just opened recently along Main Street, closed early today due to the misfourtunate incident. Sturgis Mayor Doug Rodgers requested to keep them in prayer.

Authorities indicated the individuals were involved in a crash in Wheatcroft. Kentucky State Police is believed to be investigating.
