KY div forestryMcLEAN COUNTY, Ky. (9/11/19) — The McLean County Emergency Management Agency is reminding citizens that the annual fall burn ban begins Oct. 1.

There shall be no burning from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15 before 6 p.m. during the forest fire hazard season.

State statutes regulate the types and hours of burning allowed in the Commonwealth:

It is unlawful for anyone to set fire to or procure another to set fire to any flammable material capable of spreading fire located in or within 150 feet of any woodland or brush land except between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Prevailing local time or when the ground is covered with snow.
