shirleykirchSACRAMENTO, Ky. (1/1/2018) — Shirley Jean Kirch 77, of Sacramento, Kentucky, formerly of Evansville, Indiana passed away peacefully at 1:38 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

She was born in Hopkins County on March 14, 1940 to the late Cleard and Beulah Smith. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved baking cakes for dessert at Sunday dinners at the Blackburns, game shows, word searches, and lovingly caring for her late husband Bills’s cat “Kitty” which kept her busy each day. She generously donated to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, and St. Labre Indian School. Warm days were spent watching her hummers and her granddog “Dilly’s” antics.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, William “Bill” Kirch; her grandsons, Matthew and Mark Dillingham; a granddaughter, Jenica Hand; and a great granddaughter, Bella Dillingham.

Survivors include a daughter, Marquetta Gibson of Orlando, Florida; two sons, Tom (Rosie) Dillingham of Commerce City, Colorado and Damon (Linda) Dillingham of Sacramento; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Concord Cemetery in White Plains, Kentucky with Shawn Tomes officiating. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the services for Shirley’s family.

In lieu of flowers the Shirley Jean Kirch family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations MADforMATT Relay for Life Team in care of The American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Drive; Paducah, KY 42003. (this is the regional office for McLean County)
