Henderson County LogoHENDERSON, Ky. (9/15/19) — Henderson County claimed a pair of shutout wins in its Colonel Classic on Saturday, blanking Cooper and Simon Kenton.

Henderson County 4, Cooper 0: David Gonzalez scored two goals and recorded one assist to lead Henderson County over Cooper 4-0 in the Colonel Classic on Saturday.

Adam Gillham (one goal, one assist), Lucas Butler (one goal) and Bryce Bennett (one assist) contributed offensively for the Colonels in the shutout win.

Defensively for Henderson County, goalkeepers Boone McElroy, Jacob Russ and Jayden Pruitt combined to register nine saves and record a shutout.

Henderson County 8, Simon Kenton 0: Continuing to excel offensively, David Gonzalez scored four goals and dished out one assist to lead Henderson County over Simon Kenton 8-0 in the Colonel Classic on Saturday.

Ashton Todd, Hugo Gonzalez, Trevor Book and Payton Peckenpaugh added one goal apiece for Henderson County in the convincing victory. Chipping in offensively for Henderson County, Bryce Bennett, Juan Buritica and Wes Tompkins recorded one assist apiece.

Boone McElroy, Jacob Russ and Jayden Pruitt split time at goalkeeper for Henderson County, registering five saves and a shutout.

The current boys' soccer frontrunner in the 2nd Region, Henderson County exited the Colonel Classic 9-1-2.
