Matt LongNORTONVILLE, Ky. (12/25/19) — A western Kentucky man with a passion for filmmaking has partnered with Nandar Pictures for the national distribution of his movie, “The Red Resurrection.”

The faith-based zombie thriller was filmed in Hopkins and Christian counties in 2015, and first premiered as a limited release at Showplace Cinemas in Henderson Nov. 30, 2017.

“Through those years, I and my team of volunteers have produced several award winning short films with nothing more than passion, teamwork, ingenuity, and little to no budget,” Director Matt Long said.

Long of Nortonville has been an independent filmmaker for nearly 15 years. He was born and raised in Kentucky. As a child, his creativity was shaped by cartoons, comics and 1980s-90s movies. He works at Logan Aluminum, saying his faith and family come first followed by his hobby of movie-making.

The movie is now available on DVD, Digital HD online at Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, FYE and Amazon.

Post production, the film went on to win more than 20 notable awards in film festivals worldwide.

Long said it took five months to write The Red Resurrection followed by two rewrites, nine months of filming and 40 days of production involving a cast and crew of 40-plus individuals.

“We are honored to partner with Nandar Pictures and are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make this film what it is,” he said.
