Embry CBFRANKFORT, Ky. (1/17/20) — A bill co-sponsored by Kentucky Sen. C.B. Embry was among the first round of bills to pass during week two of the 2020 Regular Session.

Embry said he was pleased to see SB 11 pass from the committee and Senate floor this week, with a majority vote of 29-5.

“I was encouraged to see SB 11 pass the Senate with such an overwhelming majority,” Embry said. “We have a lot of bills to consider this session, and I believe this is a step in the right direction.”

Introduced in the Senate by Sen. John Schickel (R-Union), SB 11 provides recourse for property owners to pursue legal action for intentional damages done to residential rental property. It would classify intentional or wanton destruction, defacement, or damage to such property as criminal mischief under Kentucky law.

SB 11 will now advance to the House for consideration.

Embry serves District 6 representing Butler, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Ohio counties.
