DSC 7017GREENVILLE, Ky. (12/17/17) — Miss Kentucky joined the fun at Muhlenberg South Elementary School this week as the Interactive Science Activity Bus visited.

The bus has been coming to MSES for several years and sponsored primarily by the Muhlenberg Board of Education and Muhlenberg County Farm Bureau.

“Coming here and working with the kids is wonderful,” said Miss Kentucky Molly Matney. “Hopefully, I can inspire some of them to work really hard and reach for their dreams.”

MSES Principal Grayson Wells said the program is always a hit with students.

DSC 7036“This program is epic,” said Wells. “The students love it.”

Leigh Sherrod, assistant principal said the students not only get excited about the extra activity but also learn.

“Anytime you can bring hands-on activities to kids, they get so excited about learning,” said Sherrod. “They also tend to remember the science applications so much better, too.”

Brandy Graves, one of the three Mobile Science Activity coordinators, said there are seven science experiments relating to agriculture and farming conducted with students on the bus.

“Everything relates to agriculture and farming, which is a big part of their Kentucky heritage,” said Graves.
