santa and mrs. clausCENTRAL CITY, Ky. (11/20/17) — The air was chilly and the exhibits were super cool for the annual Central City Christmas Parade Sunday.

There were many participants offering everything from cartoon characters, Santa, Mrs. Clause along with elves and Rudolph to marching bands, fire departments and a total of 12 constructed floats. The event raised $1,200 for Make a Better Christmas for Muhlenberg children.

There were two categories of winners — commercial and non-commercial.

In the commercial division, Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital was first; First State Bank took second; and Old Carter Horton and Finley PevelerNational Bank was third.

In the third photo, Carter Horton, 4, son of Jessica and Aaron Horton of Nelson Creek, takes a bite of Finley Peveler's cotton candy. She is the 2-year-old daughter of Anna and Terry Peveler of Nelson Creek. Below, fire departments run lights and sirens as the crowd cheers and beauty queens wave from their vehicles. At bottom, winners of the float divisions are shown with non-commercial on the left and commercial on the right in order of first through third places.
