Fire 02 300

UPDATE: GRAHAM, KY. (12/14/17) — Graham Fire Chief Chris Ford said a home on Harps Hill Road in Graham that caught fire Wednesday night was a total loss.

The homeowner was away at the time of the blaze. Five dogs were reported to have perished.

Graham Volunteer Fire Department crews worked at the scene for about three hours, the chief said. Greenville, Bremen and White Plains provided assistance.

“Dispatch received the call at 7:17 p.m.,” Ford said. “It was an older, single-story home.”

Ford reported the cause of the blaze has not been determined. A field near the residence caught fire due to dry conditions and wind.

The chief said he has called the Kentucky Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate. The Red Cross was also notified Wednesday night to get in touch with the homeowner for possible assistance.
