Science 1CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (3/12/18) — A nice-sized crowd showed up for the unveiling of the Science in Play2Go! display Thursday evening at the Muhlenberg Public Library Central City location.

Adults and children were pleasantly surprised at the activities offered. The display is sponsored by the Kentucky Science Center and Muhlenberg Public Libraries and will be open at the Central City location until June 2.

Colorful building blocks, tubes and shapes help children learn by conceiving structures through putting the shapes together. A giant “Lite Brite”-type display intrigued many adults and children. Several adults were heard saying, “This is fun.”

The science literacy goal is to enable children to think creatively, solve problems and ask questions, said Janet Harris of MCPLIB.

Representatives from the Kentucky Science Center were on hand to help celebrate the opening.

The display is open to everyone in the county at the Muhlenberg Library Central City branch at 108 E. Broad St. Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fridays.
