UPDATE: GREENVILLE, Ky. (7/11/18) — Several people were injured during a three-vehicle collision on Kentucky 189 Bypass yesterday afternoon in Greenville.

Authorities said Nellie J. Patterson, 28 of Nortonville was stopped in the northbound lane of Robert Draper Way in a 2008 Ford Focus waiting to make a left turn shortly before 2 p.m. Alexis N. Lewis, 19 of Central City was a 2018 Chevrolet Sonic also in the northbound lane behind Patterson.

Muhlenberg County Sheriff Deputy Terry Vick reported Lewis’s vehicle struck Patterson’s vehicle from behind. Lewis’s vehicle then went into the southbound lane and was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ryan S. Kirtley, 28 of Bremen.

Lewis was flown by medical helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana; Patterson and passengers, Cameron Holman of Greenville and Theresa Patterson of Nortonville, told authorities they would go to be checked out on their own; Kirtley and passenger, Jaron Brumfield of Greenville, were transported by private vehicle to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.

GREENVILLE, Ky. (7/10/18) — At least one patient injured as a result of a three-vehicle accident was transported by medical helicopter for treatment of injuries.

Emergency crews responded to the accident along Kentucky 189 near Luzerne Lake in Greenville around 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Greenville Police Department and Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office officials were still at the scene at 2:30 p.m. Traffic is currently not blocked on the bypass.

All victims involved have been removed from the wreckage, according to authorities.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
