safe zone muhlGREENVILLE, Ky. (10/8/18) — Greenville Police Department and Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office recently implemented a designated area for "safe exchange” behind the Muhlenberg Judicial Center.

The clearly-marked area is provided for child custody and internet purchases exchanges.

GPD Public Information Officer Wes Miller, GPD Chief Darren Harvey and Sheriff Curtis McGehee came up with a design and layout and then approached Muhlenberg Fiscal Court and Greenville City Council about the idea.

McGehee said both entities were in support of the project and the space is now available on Court Street in Greenville.

Authorities say the area is under 24-hour video surveillance.
